Winter 2012
LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members,

It has been my pleasure and honor to serve as your President in 2011. It gave me an opportunity to get to know you all better and I look forward to serving again in 2012.

The city of Sevierville has been hard at work to widen the road leading from Interstate 40 to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Phase 1 of the work on State Route 66 is already finished. Phase 2 has begun and is on schedule to be done by November 30, 2012. I’m sure both visitors and residents will appreciate the improvements the city is making.

Our association has also been hard at work…

The Sevierville Lodging Association has a new name. We are now the Sevierville Hospitality Association! Along with the name change, we made history by expanding the qualification of Regular Voting Members to include not only lodging but also restaurants, attractions and wedding providers. It takes all of us together to make up the Sevierville Hospitality Association and we believe the changes will have a positive impact on our organization.

Our Mini-Golf Tournament raised a record breaking $6,200! Our thanks go out to all our sponsors, committee members and participants. We have our work cut out for us if we are going to surpass that in 2012. This year we awarded $6,300 in scholarship monies to our Sevier County youth. You should all be proud of this accomplishment and the difference you made in five young lives.

I want to thank everyone who hosted a meeting, donated something for the raffles, volunteered on a committee, served on the Board or attended our meetings. Everyone involved plays a special part in making the Sevierville Hospitality Association.

See you in 2012.

Sincerely,
Christine Drew
SHA President
