IT'S SCHOLARSHIP TIME

The Sevierville Hospitality Association will be awarding five scholarships again this year. Four $1200 scholarships will be awarded to seniors graduating from Sevier County High School. One $1500 scholarship will go to an enterprising employee in the hospitality industry.

GRADUATING SENIORS! 

Four are for graduating seniors at Sevier County High School. To be eligible, students must fill out an application form, want to pursue studies in hospitality or a hospitality-related subject, OR have a parent working for a hospitality company and his/her employer is a member of the Sevierville Hospitality Association. Students must have a grade-point average of 2.7 or have an ACT score of 19 or above.

Deadline for 2012 Scholarship:
October 31, 2011

This scholarship is for any employee working in hospitality in Sevier County, who would like to study hospitality at Walters State Community College.  

SHA members, PLEASE tell your employees and their families about these scholarship opportunities.  Anyone wanting more information, should please contact the SHA Board President.

DOUG BISHOP EMPLOYEE SCHOLARSHIP - The 2012 scholarship was awarded to Chelsea Teague, the receptionist at the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce.  Because of the support offered by the SLA, this talented young lady was able to continue her education at Walters State Community College for the spring semester.

CONGRATULATIONS STUDENTS!  WE WISH YOU MUCH SUCCESS AS YOU EMBARK ON YOUR CHOSEN CAREER PATHS.

AND A FUN TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!

The 8th Annual SLA Mini-Golf Tournament took place on a beautiful, sunny day on September 28 at the Ripley’s Old MacDonald’s Farm Mini-Golf. We raised $6,200 to support SLA’s Scholarship Program and TPAC!!!

Thanks to everyone who helped make our fundraiser such a great success, including players, sponsors, donors, and volunteers!
It was a great turnout, and a lot of fun for a great cause.
